Environmental Impact Assessment and Technoeconomical Study for the Nicosia Bypass Highway

The project included the preparation of an Environmental Impact Assessment and a technoeconomical study for two alternative routes for a highway in Nicosia. Specific objectives of the project included the following:
a) Assess the existing environmental conditions
b) Impact assessment of the proposed project
c) Propose and calculate the cost of necessary measures for the reduction of environmental impacts
d) Reporting and participation in public hearings

Specific responsibilities included the following::
a) Undertake noise measurements at select road
sections
b) Prepare noise maps
c) Prepare air quality simulations for current
conditions and with the proposed project
d) Assess noise impacts and design appropriate
protective measures
e) Assess air quality impacts and design appropriate
protective measures
