EC Consultation on resource efficiency roadmap

The European Commission is preparing a Roadmap for a resource-efficient Europe as part of the resource-efficient Europe Flagship Initiative of the Europe 2020 Strategy.

In this context, the EC has launched a public consultation with the purpose of to collect the views of businesses, other stakeholders and the public at large on policy options for the Roadmap.

The EC particularly seeks expert input from real stakeholders on the current situation (existing opportunities and main barriers to more efficient use of natural resources) and on the potential effectiveness of public policy tools in achieving a Resource Efficient Europe.

Responsible for the consultation is DG Environment's Directorate F, where a Task Force on Resource Efficiency has been set up.

The consultation closes on 22 April.
