Date: 2006 - 2008

Greenovate! Europe members involved: Cetim, i.con. innovation, Technofi, ZVO Zentralverband Oberflächentechnik (German Federation of Surface Engineering Industries)

As a Coordination Action of the EU FP6 NMP program, the CleanProd project had the objective to consolidate future R&D initiatives across Europe towards more innovation in sustainable production processes with a focus on metal working and surface engineering. CleanProd aimed at changing the paradigm that cleaner processes are implemented on regulatory constraints and infringe enterprises’ competitiveness. The project paved the routes for cleaner processes as opportunities for growth and increased competitiveness.

One result was a research and innovation roadmap for sustainable manufacturing in Europe until 2020. The consortium consisted of 19 partners from 8 Member States (Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain and UK) under the co-ordination of CETIM and brought together the complementary competences of research centres, innovation experts, industrial associations, and environment agencies.
