Innovhub – Stazioni Sperimentali per l’Industria (SSI) is a Special Agency of the Chamber of Commerce of Milan, and supports the public administration to improve the competitiveness of the national economy through the promotion and support of innovation, and scientific and technological development. It is specialised in the textile, paper, fuels, and oils and fats industries.
Innovhub’s mission is to, ‘Improve the competitiveness of the national manufacturing system through the provision of high quality technological support, the promotion of innovation, research and training of staff in relevant sectors.’
Innovhub started as one of the first Euro Info Centres and was set up by the European Commission in 1987 to provide information and assistance to SMEs, with special interest on innovation, technology transfer, grants & loans. In particular, Innovhub and the Chamber of Commerce of Milan co-operate to promote a variety of initiatives (matchmaking events, funding opportunities, conferences, transnational projects, etc.), answer SMEs questions and report the local demand for services, and provide information services as a first contact point for SMEs and public and private subjects on all European related matters.
Innovhub is also part of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) created by European Commission DG Enterprise, which helps small companies to make the most of business opportunities in the European Union by providing integrated services in information, internationalisation and technology innovation.
